Asbestos Handler
32 Hours
$550.00 US

New York State Industrial Code Rule (12NYCRR56) and federal USEPA and USOSHA regulations stipulate that any person employed on an asbestos project whose duties involve the removal, encapsulation, application or enclosure of any asbestos material, or the disturbance of friable asbestos, must hold an Asbestos Handler Certificate. This course includes eighteen (18) hours of practical exercises, and concludes with a fifty (50) question exam.

Asbestos Supervisor/Contractor

State law specifies that an individual holding an asbestos contractor/supervisor certificate be on-site at all times during asbestos activities and that such representation is required to obtain an asbestos contractor's handling license. A contractor may designate a supervisor to serve as his agent for purposes of site supervision. Supervisors include those who provide supervision and direction to workers engaged in asbestos removal, encapsulation, enclosure and repair. This course includes twenty (20) hours of practical exercises and concludes with a one hundred (100) question exam.

Asbestos Inspector

This 'Restricted Handler III' certificate is required for individuals who investigate for asbestos containing materials, including those who collect bulk samples, survey, record or express written information on the presence or absence of asbestos in building material. Regulated activities include renovation, demolition, assessment and appraisal practices including those designated as regulatory compliance and property valuation. The course includes eight (8) hours of practical exercises and concludes with a fifty (50) question exam.

Asbestos Management Planner

$300.00 US

The AMP certificate is for those responsible for facility mitigation activities, including management of data associated with asbestos activities, response action planning, scheduling and administration. The management planner also coordinates any activities of an asbestos operations and maintenance program. Management Planners must complete the asbestos inspector training as a prerequisite to enrollment. The course includes practical exercises and concludes with a fifty (50) question exam.

Asbestos Recertifications
4-8 Hours
$135.00 US

All asbestos certificates must be renewed annually under NYSDOH and USEPA requirements. Attendees must provide proof of current certification and/or NYSDOL/DOH eligibility to attend.

Asbestos Operations and Maintenance
16 Hours
$300.00 US

Facility staff who perform operations, maintenance and/or repair activities of small scale or short duration which may disturb asbestos materials must hold appropriate asbestos certification. This certificate is appropriate for those who shall conduct asbestos activities that will not exceed the disturbance of not more than twenty-five (25) linear or ten (10) square feet of asbestos material. The course includes extensive practical exercises and concludes with a twenty-five (25) question exam.

Asbestos Air Sampling Technician

$300.00 US

The 'Restricted Handler II' certificate applies for those individuals who perform related air sampling activities. The air sampling technician course includes information on methodology for representative quality assurance for both personal and area sampling for phase contrast microscopy (PCM) and transmission electron microscopy analysis (TEM). The course includes practical exercises utilizing the various air sampling equipment and concludes with a fifty (50) question exam.

Asbestos Project Monitor
40 Hours
$600.00 US

Any person, other than the asbestos contractor/supervisor, who oversees the scope, methodology or quality control on an abatement project must maintain the project monitor certification. This includes those who shall act in a 'third party' and/or owner's representative capacity. Completion of this course allows an individual to also obtain an air sampling technician certification. This course incorporates extensive practical exercises, a project site visit and concludes with a one hundred (100) question exam.

Asbestos Project Designer
24 Hours
$450.00 US

Any person who plans the scope, timing, phasing and/or remediation methods to be utilized on any asbestos project must maintain the designer certification. NYS Education Department requires deisgner certification for those who submit plans to SED. This course incorporates extensive practical exercises, a project site visit and concludes with a one hundred (100) question exam.
